In 2014 Nick Byrne was working as an engineer and managing the operations for a medium-sized oil and gas production company in Dallas, Texas.  The E&P (Exploration and Production) industry was beginning to enter another slow cycle, and upper management made the decision to retire Ol’ Nick, but he wasn’t having any part of retirement at 64 years of age. Thus, Texoma Specialty Distributors, a sole proprietorship.  The company would sell specialty tooling and equipment utilized in metal, wood, and composite forming and manufacturing.

Since the business was initially part-time and more of a hobby than a real business, it was easy to control the operating parameters, which were:  1) Every product line represented by the company was to be the best quality available.

2) The rep contracts must be negotiated to afford the company to offer equal or better pricing than our competitors, without sacrificing quality or service. 

3) The company would be based on old fashioned customer service to include assisting clients with problem-solving, innovative product location, innovative logistics, a promise to every client to be a solution to a problem and not another problem, and a promise to every client to maintain the highest degree of integrity.

Over the following four years, the company slowly grew. In late 2019, it became apparent the company needed help with management and it needed to grow.  That is when Scott Johnston joined the company as a full partner.   Scott has brought 25 years of experience to the company and the latest management addition, Mr. Bryan Perrin, has also brought 25 years of experience to the company.  As a result, Texoma Industrial Distributors, LLC was formed in October of 2019.  Texoma Specialty Distributors were converted to the new LLC on January 2, 2020.
